Conflict Management for Schools and Colleges

Schools and Colleges frequently experience conflict.  This arises from students, parents/guardians and staff.  Learning new ways to understand conflict and to use communication tools to resolve tension and problem solve is at the heart of our approach.  Our experience is that the source of conflict varies from school to school.  As with every training programme we design a bespoke programme to focus on the specific issues relevant to your organisation.

We will provide a variety of learning resources, some familiar, some less so.  We find the use of theatre highly effective to reinforce traditional learning.  It introduces scenarios and the opportunity for your colleagues to engage, identifying the communication tools to reinforce the professional knowledge they have to blend new solutions to challenging situations.

Claire Addis, Principal at Jewell Academy, Bournemouth said of this training,

The team from Evince provided a bespoke package for all the staff at my school. It was delivered in an informative and enjoyable way, with lots of practical tips that all staff could use in their everyday interactions with stakeholders. Staff left the day feeling empowered and confident to communicate with stakeholders, having explored a number of real life scenarios. I would recommend that all schools provide this training for all staff as successful communication and conflict management is essential to the happiness and well being of all”.

All teaching is rewarding and powerfully so.  Helping professionals to work more effectively and comfortably in their environment rewards us in exactly this way.  Our commitment to you is to provide excellent teaching so that you benefit from our knowledge and practical experience, tailor-made for your specific needs.

Great to stop and think how conversations develop relationships for future conversations.  And to recognise how your mood can affect the mood of others.

What is your learning style?

class-groupWe’re all individudals and this is as true in a learning environment as it is anywhere.  It is important to know what makes us tick, how we assimilate information to make sense of the world we live in. We can quickly establish our learning style to achieve this.

Of course we know the brain receives information through our five senses but theories about learning simplify this to the visual, the auditory and the kinaesthetic.  What we see, what we hear and what we can be tactile with dictates what we learn.  As individuals we may have a bias towards one of these sensory inputs or a combination of them.

Do you favour the visual, auditory or kinaesthetic?

But how can we tell which sense we subconsciously favour?  Considering well crafted questions with specific responses that identify how we interact with the world and reflect on our experience provides a real insight into our individual psyche.  The more questions that are completed the more effective the response analysis can be.

First Aid At Work (Requalification) Course

first-aid-at-work-requalificationWhat is the First Aid At Work Course?

This is a two day course, re-examining emergency first aid in greater detail.  Higher risk areas naturally require higher skill levels.  We discuss this in this article and it may help you to look at it.  This course will maintain your preparation for much broader challenges than the EFAW course can offer in a single day.

Whatever your work environment, the common factor is you will be working alongside others who may have urgent need of first aid, be that the result of a work-related activity or who may suffer an unrelated condition while at work.

Remember, the national target for an ambulance’s attendance in a life-threatening condition is 8 minutes.  In the southwest area that target is met in 80% of cases.  Your casualty will need to rely on you before paramedic help can get to them.

What will we be doing?

We will train you to remain a competent emergency first aider, learning to assess the situation as well as the casualty – giving you the confidence to step forward and made an important difference to someone’s life.

We’ll work together taking turns both as casualty and first aider.  We’ll use use equipment including mannequins, face shields and of course, bandages, providing you with hands-on experience of treating casualties who are unconscious, who have stopped breathing, who are bleeding or who are in shock.  We’ll discuss what is happening in the body so that you understand why different kinds of treatment are relevant in varying circumstances.  We’ll work at your pace.  There is no such thing as a stupid question, this course is your opportunity to immerse yourself in first aid so that you have confidence in your ability to help others.

Evince Training Limited is extremely proud to be an authorised centre offering AoFAQ Regulated First Aid Qualifications. The fact that our courses are regulated by Ofqual, the Government’s office for qualifications, gives you confidence in our attention to detail and commitment to achieving and maintaining the highest standards. You also have the reassurance that by choosing our regulated courses you have complied with the employers requirement to exercise ‘due diligence’ placed on you by the HSE.

What do you get at the end?

Beyond the knowledge and skills to save a life you’ll obtain an important, recognised qualification.  We’ll undertake an ongoing assessment throughout the course. On successful completion you will be awarded a HSE recognised/Ofqual accredited “Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF)” – that’s valid for three years from the date of issue.
